Cave Creek and the Town Dump

After the museum tour of the MIM in Phoenix, A & O drove our gang of 6 to Cave Creek for a late lunch at the Tap Haus. It happened to be the Chicago Bears sports bar, which pleased the husband. Other restaurants in the area catered to the Green Bay Packers and other teams.

If you want a little flavor of "the old West" you must include Cave Creek in your Phoenix itinerary.

We ordered the usual brews, burgers, fries and chili at the Tap Haus. I didn't tell anyone that I had eaten a huge banana nut muffin with my Starbucks at the museum and wasn't very hungry. I could not even finish my wedge of lettuce--which makes me laugh because my sister-in-law tells the story of ordering the lowest price menu item in Hawaii some years back--$15.00 for a plain wedge of lettuce, which she thought was outrageous. My wedge was pretty good, included bacon and cheese, and was not even half of $15!

Right next door is the Town Dump. On the front door we observed a citation notice for
dirtiness at the Tap Haus. Oops. None of us got sick...

From pottery pigs to planter butts, this store had dozens and dozens of rooms full of stuff--
enough stuff to junk up every house and yard in town, if not the state! This is a one of a kind place!

Speaking of butts, one has to watch one's backside when there is another avid photographer in
the group. I can't even count the number of butt shots that were taken on this trip.....blackmail!

And then there is the photo of the other person taking a photo, usually caught squinting,
with neck and chin down and in wrinkled rolls!
